About

My name is Colm Russell and i’m a Multimedia Producer based in Ireland.

Since graduating with a BA (Hons) in Audio Visual/Creative Media Degree in 2004, I have worked in various digital media production environments spanning video, design, photography, animation and web.

Currently I work as an independent multimedia producer, whilst employed on ongoing basis since 2011 as a Producer for TV3 / Virgin Media Sports UEFA Champions / Europa League and Rugby World Cup broadcasts.

Recent production clients include: The Irish Times, Journal.ie, KBC Bank, Bank of Ireland, Kildare Village Outlet and O’Brien’s Wine.

I have a background in promotional video production in the music and arts based sectors. In 2016 a promotional video project (‘Door To Door Sales Will Save The Music Industry’) exceeded 100k views, received widespread online and print media coverage, was broadcast on RTE’s The Late Late Show and acquired for distribution by Storyful.

Two music videos I directed were named (in 8th and 23rd place) amongst The 50 best Irish Music Videos Of All-Time .

From 2008-2014 I worked full time as a key member from inception of TV3’s Online department in the role of Content Producer.

I have worked in various other roles connected to the Irish music industry (Graphic Designer: Aiken Promotions ; Journalist (Hotpress). I co-established Eyebrowy, a small independent animation production company which specialised in creating cartoons about the Irish music scene. From 2005-08 we were commissioned to produce content for TV broadcast (RTE: The Last Broadcast; BBC: Across The Line; MTV2: Gonzo); live events (Electric Picnic, Choice Music Prize) and corporate (Vodafone, Virgin Media). In 2006 we released a compilation DVD (‘I Prefer the Early Stuff’) through RMG.

A short film I wrote and directed for my degree year video project won third place in the Best New Short Film category in the Galway Film Fleadh 2004 and was awarded first place in the following year’s Student Media Awards Short Film category.

This website is a sampling of multimedia projects that I’ve been involved in over the years.
